NEWS FROM FEBRUARY 2017

We kicked off February with the Great Charity Challenge held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center on Saturday, February 4th. Our amazing team of riders placed 14th in the Steeplechase Competition earning us an incredible prize of $28,000! We are very thankful for the founders, contributors, our sponsors, and all of the wonderful people who made the 2017 Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments possible!

With a new month already here, it is truly a blessing to look back to the beginning of the year and recognize that in January alone, The Light House Cafe served 2,709 breakfasts, 3,048 lunches, and 700 after-school snacks! Isn’t this just a real honor to be a part of? Each and every day, God continues to keep us in awe as He provides the tools we need to help those who are in need!

With that being said, the second step in our remodeling project was to move the air conditioning units in order to make way for the demolition of the old walk-in refrigeration systems. With this phase now completed, we are moving right along and will begin the demolition this month!

Last, but certainly not least, we were so grateful to have a group of Glades Day youth volunteers serve at the Light House Cafe and within Ella's Closet. These students are currently participating in the 30-hour Famine Program in which they commit to not eating any food for 30-hours to experience what it is like to be one of the many people who feel this way on a daily basis. This is the fourth year that we have had the opportunity for this group to volunteer at the Light House Café, and we look forward to them sharing this experience with us again in the years to come. Likewise, we also had a terrific group of volunteers from Berean Christian visit us this month and serve as well! Watching the youth throughout the Palm Beach Communities come out and volunteer is very special, and we are so thankful to have them spend time here at the Light House Cafe!

As always, keep us in your prayers, and we would love for you to come see us!

Love and Blessings,
