The Light House Cafe started off October with the Belvedere Baptist Church Youth Group! While this youth group has visited the “LHC” before, two of the students were repeating volunteers! Their dedication and enthusiasm were wonderful and inspiring!
On October 18th, Debra Allen went to the First Baptist Church Senior Ramblers breakfast meeting and spoke about the Light House Cafe and Ella’s Closet. There were many people that did not know about the LHC and its ministries, so this was a great opportunity to share what God is doing through our abilities within the Western Glades Communities.
On Tuesday, October the 25th, Pete Rolle and I traveled to Boynton Beach for the Open House of the new Palm Beach County Feeding South Florida Food Bank warehouse. The building was not quite finished, but we are praying alongside them that it will be completed very soon! That same afternoon, the Light House Cafe was visited by Becky Kyle and Chad Wagler from the Christ Fellowship Life Center, as well as Pastor Matt Pilot and Youth Pastor DJ from the CF Stuart Campus. They came to learn about the history of the Light House Cafe and to also tour our facility. It was a very good visit!
Then, on October 28th, we were visited by Chef Pedro Alaniz who wanted to learn more about the Light House Cafe and upon meeting us… has offered to come back in November to cook a meal for us! We sure look forward to that!
It’s never too early to start preparing for the holidays! This year, we will give out a gift bag to each of our patrons for Christmas. However, we cannot do this alone – we need your help!
Below is a list of items needed: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath soaps, lotions, shampoo, razors, deodorant, shaving cream, bath towels, wash clothes, socks, and New Testament pocket size Bibles. If you prefer, you may also provide a monetary donation designated for “Christmas Gifts.” Checks can be mailed to:
