NEWS FROM JANUARY 2019
After the busyness of November and December, January has been a seemingly quiet and peaceful month. As we entered this New Year, we have renewed our commitment to serve God by serving his children through our missions at the Lighthouse Cafe.
We continue to offer breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, as well as snacks to the children attending the aftercare program at the Life Center. Our lunch menu typically includes chicken for the protein; however, we were recently blessed with donations of pork and beef from H.E. Hill Foundation allowing us to offer more variety. The Lighthouse Cafe also continues to receive a pallet, 432 each, of 1/2 gallons of milk. We are grateful to share this milk with other ministries and charities in need such as the ARC of the Glades, First Baptist Church Pantry, Light House Pantry by CROS Ministries, and The Refuge Ranch.
During the month of January, we have served 945 breakfasts, 2,907 lunches, and 1,040 snacks. We are so blessed with a core group of staff and volunteers who selflessly show up every day to serve others. They arrive on time and fulfill the responsibilities of cooking and serving balanced, nutritious meals, as well as cleaning up after each meal.
As always, we ask that you please keep the Light House Café in your prayers. Thank you for your ongoing support and love.
