2020 is fastly approaching! Last month, we served 1,174 breakfasts, 2,655 lunches, & 2,655 snacks. Our Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday, November 26th, was an incredible success! We served 170 people in the dining room & our usual 40 homebound patrons. The menu offered turkey, the best-ever cornbread dressing, gravy, collard greens, a dinner roll, & of course, dessert! Representatives of Molina Insurance provided us with two huge & delicious cakes! Ms. Mary Wright also made her famous Sweet Lemon Tea & Kelly Marin, her daughter, Cecilia, & her friend Adriana brought cupcakes & volunteered to serve. Many thanks to Project Thanksgiving 2019 as well for supplying us with $10.00 gift cards to give to our patrons. Every Thanksgiving, we are blessed with extra people that come to volunteer, which is a huge help! This year, Owen Robinson & three of his co-workers joined us & we were very appreciative of their time. Thank you to everyone for helping us make this Thanksgiving another special day!

Following our Thanksgiving dinner, The Light House Café closed through December 2nd to allow our staff & volunteers some time to spend with their families. On Thursday, November 28th, Thanksgiving Day, Christ Fellowship served meals to our patrons & families in the area. We are so grateful for Christ Fellowship & their ongoing dedication to making a difference in our local area.

In November, The Light House Café received a grant from the Quantum Foundation. If you are not familiar with the Quantum Foundation, they are a private grantmaking organization based in West Palm Beach. They are the largest health funder in the county, with 100% of their grants helping organizations that work directly in our local communities. Their aim is for everyone in Palm Beach County to have the opportunity to live a healthy life, regardless of their income, education, or background. We are very appreciative of the Quantum Foundation, their mission, & their continued support & generosity!

As always, we are so grateful for the ongoing support of our community, local partners, volunteers, & individual sponsors! We could not do what we do without each of you. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas & many blessings this New Year.

God Bless,

Martha Lynn Weeks
